Data AnalystFinance systems, reporting automation, ERP configuration, tax, risk and process transformation focus2020 - 2025
- My focus was on strengthening finance as a strategic function: improving control, data quality, reporting, cash visibility, tax compliance, risk management and decision support.
- Designed and implemented finance tools across Excel, Access, ERP data and BI reporting, covering management accounts, billing, purchase orders, supplier invoices, WIP, COSA, payment runs, accruals, prepayments, intercompany recharges, gratuity accruals, customer watchlists, credit control, supplier reconciliation, audit tools and month-end review.
- Built automated checks to identify financial and operational issues before they became larger problems, including incorrect GL coding, cancelled orders already invoiced by suppliers, missing narratives, VAT coding errors, zero-value purchase orders, overhead PO issues, currency mismatches, terms mismatches and intercompany orders without purchase orders.
- Redesigned core business processes rather than simply automating existing inefficiencies, improving supplier payment and expense processes so approvals moved faster and supplier payments were made on time or early.
- Supported strategic initiatives by assessing accounting, tax, cash, operational and reputational risk, advising on safer and more practical alternatives that still achieved the commercial objective.
- Owned ERP configuration, vendor communication, testing, updates and new functionality, with a deep understanding of the ERP schema, reporting extracts, approval layers and ledger structures.
- Combined finance and tech disciplines to make finance more reliable, proactive and influential in business decision-making.
